What we had to do...

Yesterday we was given to different sheets to fill out, on sheet number one, was all about character development and description. Such as name and age, along with what type of job our characters do or whether they are still in school or not. My character was called Neveah and she is still in school she is 17 years old. We had to think of three word that describe our character my character three words were: ambitious, shy and beautiful.  We had to choose something that our character really wanted and something that only our character knew about themselves. This helps to develop the character and to make a storyline. My character Neveah has stage fright and she really wants to perform because she has a amazing singing voice.
We was put into groups of 3-4 I was in a group of 4 and we each had to fill out these sheets. Later on in the sheets we have to speak about how our characters met and what they like about each other and what they dislike about each. However all the characters were nice Neveah always felt left out and she just wanted to be accepted.
Our second sheets were about location and actually helping us to create a story line. It gave us questions such as where was the play set, when did it take place. Our play look place in America in Queens during the summer break. Then the sheets gives questions such as what does each character want which helps us come together as a team and work to together to find out what each character actually wanted.

what we did today:

However today a lady called Karis came in from the Paptango Theatre company. she helped up to start writing out the scripts and how to structure them ( a bit like a English lesson). We went back into our group of four and began to think of ideas but before we did this, we all was in a circle and we went round the circle saying our names and our favourite movie or tv series or play and why. I said my name and that my favourite play/ movie was Dream girls and the reason why is because I love the way it was directed and I adore some of the actors/ actresses in the play/ movie. For example: Eddie Murphy and Beyoncé ( Queen B).  The importance of this activity is that by finding out what people like about movies and play or tv shows it can help us as a group add in these parts that makes the shows great to make our 1 act play enjoyable and entertaining.

What our play was about:

The play was about a zombie apocalypse and the few surviving people. Only a few people were left which were including the four characters from my group called Nevaeh, Raiko, Larris and Andrea.  Andrea was the oldest and Riako was the main character his goal was to be successful meaning he wanted to survive. There was one plane that came back once a month, if you missed the plane you was trapped there with the zombies and would die! Unless you could survive another month with barely any food.  The opening scene is black with a loud  Cyran then a radio call from Andrea telling survivors to meet at Taco Bell. Along side the stage you had Riako killing a zombie then running over to meet Neveah and Larris to get to Andrea at Taco Bell. Andrea character is important as her character put the other three characters in danger. As her character finds out that the others have money to get on the plane and steals in during their sleep however Larris see her doing and joins in with her. Leaving Neveah and Raiko helpless. However they find Larris not knowing she has the money but *plot twist* Andrea is dead! How? Karrie killed her to get the money for herself... I will not continue otherwise I will give away the whole play.

We have to write up the plays and email them to our teachers then  professional actors come in and perform a pieces for us.
